Watching some baseball and hockey
Instead of drafting a high quality Functional Journal post for you this week I have been watching the Colorado Avalanche play some hockey and the World Series started. It has been a very sports forward week and that is just okay sometimes to let happen and take a moment to appreciate. The Colorado Avalanche have played 2 games this weekend in less than 22 hours which is pretty wild. Both of the games actually happened to be early morning adventures which works out great for me as the super late night games are not really my cup of tea. I’m way more apt to watch a replay these days than to stay up to all hours of the night watching some hockey. I know that is something that has flipped in my routine from night owl to alarm clock warrior.
We should end up with some Halloween baseball this year which is always one of my favorite things. I like to watch the World Series and have an excuse to wear my Indiana Jones costume. We already had our boo at the zoo adventure this year. That is my other big excuse to break out the Indiana Jones costume. It does seem more and more unlikely that we will get another movie from the franchise. We will however keep getting baseball and hockey games. Sports is pretty much undefeated in the continuing to make content category of things. That is one of the reasons why linear television providers have leaned so heavily into sports based programming.
This week I was able to break open my backlog which for some reason I had divided into 2024 and 2025 generated ideas. Instead of spending a bunch of time pruning and refining my backlog I just took the first topic on the list and went to work drafting the next edition of the Lindahl Letter. That happens to be the 211th edition of my weekly writing efforts. My writing efforts have gone a lot better than the last 2 Colorado Avalanche games which have both been somewhat frustrating to watch. They showed up with high effort hockey, but all that effort just did not push them into the win column.
