That game 7 last night was interesting
That World Series game was really competitive and great to watch. We ended up watching and waiting until the end.
I watched the Colorado Avalanche play some hockey yesterday. The game ended in time for me to make dinner and be ready to watch game 7 of the World Series. It is pretty rare to watch hockey during the daytime like that as a lot of the games are broadcast late into the night. I’m not really a night owl anymore so it is nice to be able to watch the games. We have been using the Altitude+ service this year and it is really fun to watch the pregame and postgame shows with the very pro Colorado Avalanche broadcasting team. They are entertaining, invested, and really very funny given the central focus on hockey. The other day I even bought some Mark Rycroft and John-Michael Liles trading cards for my collection. They were not graded or anything, but they are now in my Colorado Avalanche card binder. That is where I keep the Colorado Avalanche autograph cards I pick up from time to time on eBay. For the most part you can get autographed hockey cards at fairly reasonable prices if you are willing to spend a little time working on building a collection.
Last night I was sitting down on the sofa and enjoying the evening while the World Series was in the 6th inning with the Dodgers batting. I was looking at Bluesky during the Avalanche game and it is fun to engage with some of the Colorado Avalanche fans who are also active on social media. Overall, I’m just not sold on social media anymore. That is something I have already written about, but I just don’t think the networks are really social anymore. Most of them are just content distribution hubs focused on farming or sustaining attention. That is not inherently social and for the most part it might actually have the opposite effect. I’m fully capable of sitting down and writing for an hour while watching some baseball. Writing for the sake of writing is always the best part of the adventure. That World Series game was really competitive and great to watch. We ended up watching and waiting until the end. Yoshinobu Yamamoto winning the MVP makes sense and it was amazing to see a starter be the season ending closer.
