Sustaining that posting streak
We are on a posting streak. It’s a daily writing streak. That is the journey we are on together. This new online forum for daily sharing of a missive at the end of the day is working out well enough. Right now, I’m sitting down to watch the NBA finals on ABC. I’m hoping it will be a good game. Neither team has my allegiance, so my interests are for a really good game. That sometimes is for the best. The series is all tied up at 1-1, and the game so far is staying reasonably close. I’m already looking forward to the big NHL game tomorrow night. The big gap between games 3 and 4, which are both being held in Sunrise, Florida, was a little bit surprising. Strategic scheduling by the NHL, I guess.
We have the opportunity to make choices throughout the day. Within the sum of those choices, a path forward begins to form. Making the right choices and following the best possible path has to be something you consider. Otherwise, instead of working just beyond the edge of what is possible, things will end up divergent from a perfect possible future. It’s that chance of problematic chaos that makes the art of decision-making inherently both important and indispensable. I’m in one of those reflective moods tonight. Not really as a reflective practitioner, but more generally. My right frame to consider would be philosophically reflective.
I’m still writing out of the Pages word processing application. That is where this writing streak has been ultimately typed, created, or word-crafted. At this point in the journey, the prose must flow. I think part of being a bit reflective is about wondering what is next. It is about wondering where things are going to end up moving in the next few years. Change is constant, but I think the next decade will include a lot more change than the previous one. We may have seen stability and not truly appreciated it while it was occurring. Maybe that is the crux of what I’m focused on this evening. We strive toward that perfect possible future, but we have to acknowledge that some parts of the journey were pretty decent. Sustaining that journey toward the best possible path involves appreciation of the path and of the destination.
The first quarter of tonight’s NBA finals game has come to a close. A few paragraphs of prose have been written tonight. A lot more consideration has gone undocumented in terms of being transcribed. That is probably for the best as thoughts start to percolate and coalesce into something that could be a larger output.
