Streaming music service adventure
A consequence of switching to YouTube Premium meant giving up my Spotify subscription. It did not seem like a good idea to have more than one music streaming subscription. That turned out to be problematic for my Tuneshine, which does not work with YouTube Music. That meant that it would just sit around displaying a static default image. Given that the linkage to Spotify was a driving part of having the Tuneshine on my desk, something is going to have to change in my setup. So far, I have switched from Pandora to Spotify to YouTube Music. It has really changed my listening habits. I had some really dialed-in stations on Pandora for Warren Zevon and In This Moment. Now I end up trying to remember what album I want to listen to and then teaching for that on YouTube Music. I’m sure over time I’ll end up with a solid go-forward strategy. I may end up just playing my vinyl records. Right now, my vinyl record collection includes a large number of albums. It would take a long time to listen to all of them enough times to reach saturation.
