My Xbox repairs went very poorly
Earlier this month, my Xbox Series X started having weird purple rectangle artifacts, tearing, and otherwise just terrible video quality. I actually went out and bought a Sony Blu-ray player to overcome this obstacle while watching physical media. However, I wanted to play some actual video games on the Xbox and started to get all sorts of failures. Games would just start to launch and then crash. It was something that justified sending the Xbox off for repairs. I had done this one other time with my Xbox Series S, and that worked out well enough. This time around, they had it for a few days and then shipped it back to me pretty quickly.
Unfortunately, the Xbox, even after being repaired, does not work, and getting into actual contact with Xbox support was extremely difficult. I had to find a live agent chat channel and then just wait and wait for somebody to show up and provide some type of help. It was really weird. I was listed as being the 1st person in the queue the entire time, but it took maybe 15 minutes or more for somebody to show up. Right now, we are in some weird 72-hour hold period where we wait to find out if the engineering team will refund me the cost of the repair. Every Xbox that I have ever owned has failed and needed to be repaired. I mean it a sample size of an Xbox X and an Xbox S. Maybe they just have a high hardware failure rate. None of my other technology fails at this rate.
