A trip to a national park
We got up early this morning and I had my normal Huel complete meal shake for breakfast. Today the shake was strawberry banana flavored. I’m a fan of the variety pack to help mix it my breakfast routine. It was going to be a big day. A day spent at Rocky Mountain National Park which is near Estes Park, Colorado. Previously we would drive up to Estes Park and stay at the Stanley Hotel for the weekend and visit the park. This time around we decided to just make a day trip of it which meant we would be committed to about 3 hours of driving during the day. We made quick work of the drive and things worked out well enough.
Things started to get a little be wonky after we made it to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. They have this timed entry system which is something you have to navigate to gain access to other the park. Apparently, I had purchased a timed entry to the park, but not to the bear lake road area where all the main hiking and park and ride are located. That meant we were on our own to figure out a new trailhead and hiking plan. Fortunately one of the park ranges was able to suggest the alluvial fan trailhead and the lawn lake trailhead. I’m going to try to include a few photos from the hiking with this post.

I’m using the gallery feature to include a few photos. They will give you an idea of what the hiking looked like, but I assure you the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park is something.
