A few more writing adventures
I’m still watching Stargate SG-1, and some familiar faces have shown up along the way during season 3 from other science fiction franchises. My big plan for the night was to sit down and write a few weblog words before bedtime. Last night, I just stopped writing after a few words and picked up again this evening. It broke my posting streak on the Substack version of the weblog, but that in the end is okay. No publishing deadline really exists to submit words on a daily basis. It’s just something that I have wanted to do as a part of a broader writing effort to just keep the words flowing. I am yet again watching some more Stargate SG-1 after dinner and pondering the nature of building epic creations of prose.
I have a ChatGPT session set up for making the thumbnails for this weblog series. It's really just a text-on-image sort of thing that works well enough. It might be better to pick one of the images from my back catalog each day and maybe just share a mountain landscape or some other scenic Colorado views. That would be one way to take things, but for the most part, the Substack thumbnails are just a part of the top posts or the main page. Overall, it’s not the most important part of the publishing equation over on the Substack platform. Writing some prose that finds an audience is probably more important.
Recently, I got a Philips Baristina espresso machine. I spent some time trying to figure out how to buy another portafilter for it and for the life of me could not figure out how to purchase one online. Maybe the machine is new enough that they just don’t have any of the spare parts for sale.
Update: I got some help from support and found it here. Oddly its called the Saeco Portafilter which was not what I was expecting for the Phillips Baristina, but I guess the more you know ;)
