Some writing projects are a little more interesting than others end up being. I’m trying to get back into the habit of writing within those moments of passion. It’s about grabbing the spark of passion about something and just taking the time to capture the moment. Most of the time it just does not happen that way. A good portion of the reason for that happens to be based on reality that just producing a true ongoing narrative falls outside the scope of what is actually going to happen. It’s just an unlikely thing to end up doing. A good amount of my focus ends up on writing research notes from a backlog of topics and concepts that have been maintained for years. Traditionally my area of focus should be related to the research trajectory that has been built out since finishing my dissertation. Like most researchers and pracademics my current interests are not really related to my dissertation.
Maybe taking down random thoughts into Google Keep and sometimes transitioning those into a backlog is enough to keep the conveyor belt of writing on track. Outside of that process I tend to focus on writing a nice fiction series or short story. A few of those efforts have survived and can be found with a bit of searching. Right now at this moment I’m writing on a MacBook Air and trying to internalize how I feel about the keyboard. It’s not the worst keyboard on a laptop I have ever used, but it is not the best either. The keys are backlit and they do have some travel and the sounds of sustained ongoing typing are what you would expect. It’s the soundtrack of productivity for a writer.
The Colorado Avalanche play 3 more games this week and all of them have pretty late start times.
