Maybe this week I’ll get back in the groove of daily writing at the start of each day this week. That is a key element of process. Another element that may need a bit of work this week is to assemble a true open projects list. That list needs to be rationalized and organized into a clear set of priorities to either complete or stop doing. Maybe the worst section of that list will be the things that were forgotten then dug up to make the list only to be kicked off the roadmap by relegation to the stop doing list. Nothing really is more powerful than the stop doing list. You must respect it and understand the power that it ultimately commands in practice as a source of truth.

A focused start to the day
So much remains to be written about these days. A good amount of break time occurred within the daily writing experience at the start of the day. Maybe getting back into the daily habit of a little bit of blogging at the start of the day will be just the right recipe to increase writing productivity on a daily basis. I’m thinking about making sure that a little writing session occurs geared toward creating 500 words or more at the start of the day without a guiding topic. Dare I note this is a return to a more or less stream of consciousness focused writing effort. This type of morning writing is something that helps me kickstart the day and get focused. At one point, I had considered trying one of those daybreak routines where people read a few focused sentences on what they want to achieve. It’s sort of like a how to move forward day kick starter activity.
Generally, the writing process starts, and I lock into that activity until my attention gets pulled away for something else and that effectively ends the writing session. For those of you who know the joy of getting into the flow of writing it is sometimes very disappointing when that process is interrupted, and your attention gets pulled away. The very same thing can happen when I’m probably solving or writing code. That extreme laser focus that drives you to a singular purpose of creativity is fleeting and can be disrupted by even very basic things. When it’s gone it is not returning. That is why you have to respect those moments in the flow of creativity.

Getting setup to complete work
This is indeed another desktop setup post. Sit back and relax as these words about my desktop setup show up to complete this post. I’m getting used to working with a MacBook throughout the day. While it was jarring at first and it took a little bit of research along the way to figure out how to make things work I am now reasonably ok as a Mac user. I’m currently using a “Dell – WD22TB4 Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station” to switch from a MacBook to a MacBook Air depending on what type of computing effort is being done. Using thunderbolt cables I have two Dell 38 inch monitors connected to the docking station via USB-C. For the last couple of weeks this setup has been working swimmingly well. I have things set up where I can just move a single USB-C cable and a power cable to switch out my entire computing experience.
